 Q1: How are entry permits for the mountain region handled?

A: It is recommended that after you are sure you are able to apply for bed allocation or a campsite space, you then go the website of the Ministry of the Interior""s National Police Agency to apply, or apply in person at Neipu""s Taiwu Police Station.


Q2: How are single day round-trip entry permits applied for?

Those who wish to make a return trip on the same day should be at the location of the Mountain Beidawu National Trail Old Trailhead Checkpoint before 8:00 am and produce documentary proof to carry out registration, after which they are able to enter the trail, and they should first apply for a mountain entry permit in advance.

If you ascend the mountain very early in the morning, there is delivery mailbox at the Checkpoint site, please fill out your application for single day entry and put it in the mailbox.


Q3: Does the Kuaigu Inn provide food, sleeping bags and other such equipment?

A: No food or other relevant equipment is provided. Hikers are requested to prepare their own food and equipment before ascended the mountain. Should you need alpine region hiking assistants to help you with carrying or cooking, please include the alpine region hiking assistant/s in your application list.


Q4: How long does it take to climb Mountain Beidawu Mountain?

A: The trail length is approximately 11.8 km (including the old and new hiking trail trailheads). New Trailhead → Old Trailhead takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours,
Old Trailhead → Kuaigu Inn takes about 3 to 4 hours, Kuaigu Inn → Triangle Point takes about 3 to 4 hours. Generally, it is recommended that 3 days and 2 nights are planned for to make a return trip, in order to avoid the dangers created by exhaustion.


Q5: What are the relevant regulations for alpine hiking assistants"" applications?

A: According to Article 6 of The Mountain Beidawu National Trail Control Measures, in principle, the total number of people permitted entry must not exceed 102, with an additional 50 people permitted entry for the sole purpose of peak ascent after registering. When applying for mountain entry permits and mountain lodge or camp use, the application name list should include hired alpine region hiking assistants or other relevant assistants. If you do not need to stay overnight or are a Pingtung County indigenous person, you will only need to register at the Old Trailhead Checkpoint and will not be limited to the total number of people in the Control Measures.


Q6: How should remittance receipts be checked?

A: If e-mail notification is not received, you can go to Application Queries and the print payment form field to search for remittance information.


Q7: How can I check whether my payment was successful or not?

A: You can go to Application Queries in the Kuaigu Inn Application Form and check whether the order status has changed to ""paid"".


Q8: How do I apply for a refund? What is the processing time required for a refund?

A: To apply for a refund you must first log into the website, click to select the original application number, select Application Refund, and then enter the financial institution for the refund to be issued to, along with account name and account number. The Office handles refunds on a fixed basis three times a month, with refunds issued after each third has passed. In principle, please allow for a minimum of 20 to 30 working days for a refund to be issued.


Q9: Is there a fee to be paid for remittance or for application refunds?

A: 1. As regards remittances: (1) For accounts with the Bank of Taiwan, using an ATM or the Internet to transfer remittance, the processing fee is NT$0. (2) For non-Bank of Taiwan accounts, using an ATM or the Internet to transfer remittance, there is a processing fee of NT$15. (3) For remittances made in cash at the Bank of Taiwan, there is a fee of NT$100. (4) For remittances made in cash at a Post Office, there is a fee of NT$30. (5) For remittances made in cash at another bank, the processing fee may vary according to the relevant provisions of each bank.

2. As regards refunds, members of the public are recommended, if possible, to provide a Bank of Taiwan account or a Taiwan Post Office account, in order to avoid the amount of the refund having a deduction made for processing. In cases where the wrong account details have been provided, and the remittance has failed the Bank of Taiwan will deduct NT$30 from the application refund, hence applicants are requested to please make sure the correct refund account names and account numbers are used.


Q10: Can the number of people accommodated be increased, decrease or substituted?

A: (1) Before draws are taken for bed allocation, there are no limits on number changing or items. (2) After draws are taken for bed allocation, the application form will limit the number of changes to two people (including reduction and replacement of personnel; after the number of people has been reduced, there must be a minimum of two or more team members). The application method is to enter the website to carry out modifications.

Q11: Do the fees paid by the members of the public include insurance?

A: The fees paid by members of the public are site usage fees, which are used on the maintenance of bed and camp facilities, and do not include insurance; if members of the public deem there to be a need for insurance, it is recommended that they contact relevant insurance companies to take out an insurance policy.
